Troubleshooting Common Issues
Solutions to the most frequent email setup problems.
- Verify you're using your full email address as username (not just "help")
- Test your password by logging into webmail first
- Check that Caps Lock is off
- Ensure no extra spaces in email or password
- Verify internet connection is working
- Double-check server address:
mail.domain.com - Try alternate SMTP port: 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
- Disable VPN temporarily if active
- Accept the certificate if prompted (normal for business email)
- On Android: Change security to "SSL (Accept all certificates)"
- Verify your device date/time is correct
- Incorrect dates cause SSL validation failures
- Verify both incoming AND outgoing servers are configured
- Check outgoing server authentication is enabled
- Confirm username is full email for both servers
- Try alternate SMTP port: 587 instead of 465
- Ensure you're using IMAP (not POP3) on ALL devices
- Check sync settings in your email app
- Remove and re-add account if problems persist
- Verify "Leave messages on server" is enabled for POP3
